JIM CONBOY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship has been dedicated to Jim Conboy, the first athletic trainer in District 7 to be inducted into the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Hall of Fame. Jim Conboy was the head athletic trainer for the United States Air Force Academy for 43 years. In 1976, he served as an assistant athletic trainer for the Pan-American Games in Minnesota and Winnipeg. In 1980, he was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame. In 1990, Conboy was honored with the Pioneer award from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association. In that January issue of the NATA news Jim was quoted saying "The greatest reward of the athletic training profession is the satisfaction obtained from being part of a team and doing your part to help young people utilize their god given talent to perform together." Through his work, Jim displayed the qualities and standards that we all strive to achieve as certified athletic trainers. Our goal is to pass on this quality and commitment to the student athletic trainers.
